The first year after installation is an extremely critical time for your plants. Proper and timely watering of your plant material, even drought tolerant plants, is important until the roots have established themselves in the surrounding soil.
Fertilizing with a slow release organic fertilizer such as Espoma in the early Spring, along with shots of liquid fertilizer during the year works well. Organic fertilizers help to maintain important microbes in the soil.
